this song was written about a small child who once lived in the attic of the house i currently rent. he/she was locked in from the outside for years(i actually removed the lock when i moved in) and you can still see the fingernail marks on the back of the attic door. the ghost of this child walks down the stairs over and again throughout the night, and even occasionally stops to sit on my bed. true story.
